    @lito I'm not sure what you mean by "the existence of the wharf would actually improve conditions for the farm"?

    The wharf will mean the timber exports will be meaningfully more profitable. This is simply a function of the barging alternative (or a less suitable port site) being very costly and stripping a large chunk of the profitability out of the process.

    Furthermore, the existence of a deepwater freight capability on the island will make many other businesses more viable, from tourism to farming - Eternalgrowth
