    I was referring more to examples where the source of the contaminant coming via incoming seawater and known to have been introduced by a seaborne vessel.

    From the piece itself you linked, the bacteria is described as 'ubiquitous' and as the piece points out:

    In most cases, stress factors (e.g., high temperatures, grading trauma, anaesthetics, gradual increase in salinity in the recirculation system, etc.) were reported to have precipitated the diseases (Handlinger et al. 2001, 2002, 2005)

    I'm well aware that abalone are exceptionally tricky to cultivate (hence the high price they command), what I've still seen no evidence of is that there are demonstrated examples of seaborne vessels being 'responsible' for the spread of disease.
