Have to agree with you their Creditdumbness when it comes to CEO's , the best ones are the founders and experts in the domain the company specializes in.

For example a Geologist in a mineral exploration or a computer scientist for software company (AKA bill gates, zukkerberg, etc).
or an engineer or technical background.

But a technical background is not enough, they have to understand business, finance, marketing etc.

But a expertise in the domain of the company helps with avoiding making stupid decisions.

That is one of the reasons some American companies have done so well.

Still some companies cant be helped as their product or service does not fit the market, and the company then should pivot if it can efficiently.
