The real winners from those takeovers were the shareholders of those LICs that were bought out. They got their NTA worth back when they were trading at large discounts. As these shareholders received their underlying NTA value in WAM shares, most probalbly sold out of WAM staright away to realise their profits. Hence the drop in SP. These takeovers are generally dilutive to WAM shareholders.
