Because the tech needs to be continually developed / improved as standing still in semiconductor development is death. It's only once another firm has bought the company that the development will cease - then it's over to them.

I like the sound of the Chinese DRAM manufacturer that has the greatest need for new tech. I think he might be talking about ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT).

But I'm getting way ahead of myself, need to get the bloody IMEC MB chip working properly first. Easier said than done, as we have discovered.
