TP did say there was current consideration of taking the AN plant up to around 20,000 tonnes in the shorter term. It was also stated that the copper from PB during the build/trial mine process would top out at around 8,000 to 9,000 tonnes, towards the end of the build. Add that to the current stated target of 15,000 for AN ore and they will need the 20,000 tonnes or better capacity sooner rather than later. Because they have spare head room with current production targets there should be no disruption to production volumes while they do those extensions.
I think a lot will depend on the copper price but they are obviously well forward in planning for various scenarios.
Oh, there was a cheeky but friendly reminder from the floor to one of the HC posters that they should relax about the electricity supply.
