The PAA mob are very well connected to the political & scientific folks in WA (and no doubt other places) and I am highly confident that when the time is right, they will kick the tyres on any govt grants & support that may be available. But I believe they need to have enough progress on the table for the AU govt to pay any attention. So once the Ph1 safety profiling is done I do believe they can commence the engagement. We are well past the point where the govt will throw money at just about anything to make them look politically active. They may even need Ph2 underway TBH for Covid.
Remember we have HTLV assessments underway and this is a big problem in the Aboriginal community. No treatment is currently recommended for people with asymptomatic HTLV-1 infection. This is a clever play because if the govt are less interested in Covid, they will most likely be more keen about HTLV research and potentially orphan drug status benefits.
