You don't get it. It's going lower, much lower.
RH won't build a thing. He won't develop a thing.
Imagine, if I gave you a contract for a $500k salary, plus super, plus company expenses. Plus, I allowed you to also hold as many leadership positions at other companies as you wanted, and earn income from them, and devote your time & energy to those other companies at your own discretion. Pretty good deal so far, huh?
But, here is the clincher. Now, imagine if I then told you that you didn't need to do much work? Imagine if I told you that you would never have to pull a single pound of ore out of the ground. No mine to construct, no plant to build, no company operational procedures to develop, and no mining operation to run.
Sooo...no geology & mettalurgy problems to deal with, no infrastructure to manage, no site safety & injuries to manage, no production targets to achieve, no pit dewatering & local drinking water acquifers to manage, no HR issues to deal with, no mining camps to build & manage (including sewage, catering, cleaning contracts, water supply systems etc etc), no permitting and environmental issues to deal with, no employees to manage, and zero performance kpi's to satisfy...etc..etc. So, $500k with zero stress, guaranteed.
Now, imagine, if I then told you that you would be the boss, answering to no one, with only a few mates around you, on the same kind of deal. And you could do anything you wanted with near zero accountability, all you had to do was talk up the amazing project, every now and again at a cushy conference, and promise a couple of things from time to time...which you could avoid delivering if you wanted to, because no one would hold you to account.
What would you say to an offer like that? Would you sign the contract? And what would you do, if you were a small-time city lawyer with zero experience of building a mine, let alone running one, to keep a dream like that going for as long as possible? Imagine the amazing quality of life? The bank account, the good life, the family time? What would you do to ensure nothing ever changed?
