I believe the number of shares on issue (SOI) is not as important as some people may think of. The market cap is more relevant and important than SOI. There are plenty ASX stocks with large numbers of SOI like (AJM 3B, PLS 2.22B, CML 4.8B and IMU 4.4B) which are doing okay.
