There is little point in trying to educate the day dreamers. Gold Mines of Australia (WMC) sunk the main shaft through the barren country - the Gap Zone - to exploit the rich structures they had previously drilled up. On the way through they put out some exploratory holes and found nothing worthwhile. The real values lie below the bottom level of the underlay shaft as determined by drilling prior to the mine’s closure in the mid 60s. It should be recognised that WMC were pre-eminent on a world scale in narrow vein mining and the associated geology. The current custodians couldn’t hold a candle to the real miners of these types of deposits.
