Whilst unfortunate, NML is exempt from such a tax as we are not mining producers. It is in direct response to the housing price plummet in the last year and the shortfall in the state budget.
NML won't be producing any time soon, so nothing to concern us entirely anyway.
The miners who came to Victoria to restart operations would have eventually expected such a thing, and if the minerals are there and worth it, they will pay just as other states do
I still maintain it is rather unfortunate, I think they've looked at Fosterville and realized they can be making some money off it
