here is how liquidation happens as an example; just a possible scenario;
mgmt are in dire position. they needed mire money knowing the bank was running dry. they have expenses each month that exceed whats coming in. they are NOT cash flow positive
so they need cash; issue more shares; get a loan; etc.
they can always issue more shares but they need a buyer; at 4.9 c if they need 15 million we are looking at 500 million shares at 3.3 cents each when you take into account the very large costs they will get stung with. they are now in the ccc+ bucket of investment choices so will have to pay far higher fees to raise.
whats that then do to people in terms of dilution? and how long does this 15 million last?
lets say they cannot raise the funds through shares because noone is willing to buy them at the price they want. says they ask at 4 c and get offered 2 c shares? why would this not happen. a bank or broker or whoever can smell blood in the water why wouod they pay top dollar when they might get it at 2 cents.
if you know the person is about to foreclose of their house for sale due to non payment of their mortgage, and you know the husband and wife is going through a divorce, and their ask price is 1 million. do you offer 1 million or do you offer 500 k knowing they are desperate?only a fool would offer 1 million.
and thats whats going to happen to lvt now, lots of low ball offers and they need to find the best low ball offer they can get
they have just suffered an ENORMOUS vote of no confidence to delist and so they are begging now; they are not in a position of strength. the hat is out, has anyone got a dollar i need to catch the bus kind of thing ...
if that takes too long to manifest the banks can call it in and shut them down. then you have bankruptcy. very quick as they are very low asset company
