Recent events demonstrate the retail support for Reeve has entirely evaporated so I imagine he couldn't care less about what we think.
He's too egotistical to step aside quietly, so it's going to be a noisy, painful and acrimonious process I predict (tar and feathers!)
A high stakes game indeed, since the exposure and revelations that result will likely discredit him forever.
