The chairman's address in this announcement states that M&A Advisory (Purcell's company) was the seconding party on the 249D. To do that you need to be a shareholder. If I needed to put money on it, my guess would be that the residual shares are owned by them. It raises questions for me as to whether a new substantial holder notice should've been lodged, given that a reasonable person would expect the company of MAY's chairman to act in line with MAY; with the 249d being an acute example.
