Interesting in todays AFR - Mike Smiths piece p 26. says that:-

In reference to equity raising and going down the same path as Senex & Cooper to fund growth earlier this year.
"When Cottee was selling the merits of the Macquarie Deal, he said that was not an option. However now he has changed his tune and on Wednesday flagged an equity raising in the form of a rights issue to come up with the $4o to $50Million needed to extend Centrals Drilling program.

Question for someone who knows: Why was it not an option in early Jan/Feb/March before the final 20cent offer & the SOA announced ? (early march)...Cannot you do 2 things at once?
