Last season we were paying $350 a ton for superphosphate, we’re now it’s $480. Compound has jumped from $700 to over a $1000 a ton. Australia really needs to start thinking about self sufficiency to at least maintain a stable price or stable supply because other countries can stop supply at the click of a finger as China are thinking of doing. Another reason phosphate has jumped is a big producer in America got severely damaged by a hurricane.
