I think the shareholders have spoken loud & clear. NTL simply closing ranks from within isn't going to work for them any longer. As for the non-binding resolutions, as Blackcap has alluded to, the clock is indeed ticking. MH's & CN's turns for re-election will be coming up & if the general feeling is that the company is still under/not preforming when the do, they now know that they'll be packing up their desks and moving on. As of today, shareholders have begun to decide who is going to be on the NTL board, not current NTL board members & their old boys club.

Any shareholder or groups of shareholders with more than 5% of the company can request a special meeting with resolutions to remove the 2 directors. There are some legal rules to get right but it’s definitely doable over the next few months.
