Further, history is littered with examples of one partydelaying an action so that it fits better with another party’s goals, e.g. American hostages in Iran were released after Raegan become President. And more recently "Dodgy Darryl" asked Gladys to delay firing a public servant until the public servant had signed off one of Dodgy Darryl’s land deals. It would be naïve to think this sort of thing never happens.
