*sigh* we have another one.
Without mining life does not exist as we know it. Without coal, energy cannot exist as we know it. Get real. The very reason we have coal and gas prices so high is because of idiots like you. If we were not so adverse to approving new mines or projects then the Russia sanctions wouldn’t have done a thing to the price of energy security. This hostility to such sectors is why we have a real shortage, to quote the STO CEO these shortages were coming before Russia. Heck I invested on this very basis and have made a fortune.
I’ve worked in this very industry in fund managers, you have very inept people making these decisions. I once recall an ESG manager not even knowing the difference between coking coal and energy coal for perspective. Literally you have some off the street left wing soy drinker influencing investment decisions. It’s insanity.
Maybe invest outside mining if you’re such an eco warrior. However live by what you preach. Don’t use any energy source such as your iPhone unless the sun is shining or the wind is blowing. Heck don’t even use an iPhone given half the cobalt in it comes from slave labour in the DRC. Stop wearing any sort of clothing, because you know, it’ll likely have petrochemicals in it. Stop taking medicines, again petrochemicals, stop using lights, the tv, your car. The list goes on. I can assure you the only reason BHP and other large listed companies have to even acknowledge this rubbish is because the largest holders are union backed pension funds. Maybe go work in one, it’ll validate what I’m saying.
Want to save the environment? Stop the third world breeding at multiples such as 8 children per each woman. Without coal QLD is bankrupt, and Australia cannot fund its hospitals, school, pensions, NDIS and welfare. Just saying.
