. Incidentally, in the late 1970's we went to Leonora to see my wife's sister & brother in law who was the son of a well-known prospector. We were told the most looked-forward-to activity for New Year's eve was going around in cars shooting the Aboriginal dogs, The Aboriginals were not allowed in the hotel called the 'White Peacock' from memory and sat on the verandah on the adjoining shop. One token Aboriginal 'uncle Tom' was allowed in the bar.
That venture west was a real eye-opener into the outback culture.
Imagine what it would be like to have many millions of dollars arriving every year from investors (mainly from the Eastern states) who are hoping they are going to be made rich.
