I thought about time scales after the discussion with the captain about what terms of reference to use when deploying the word "imminent". Upon a little research I found that the word is certainly not used in any accepted geologic time scale (the shortest period being a "Stage" or "Age" that is measured in thousands to single digit millions of years). Yes you could use the word in the context of a geologic event like an earthquake (the seismograph is indicating an imminent earthquake) but that's very much human scale timeframes.

damage was done with that deluded founder hanging around long past his use by date.but action was taken and board / management cleaned up and rock stars entered.that takes time to reset.
