Looking at the EPA website, the EPA decided that the proposal was not assessable on the 13 November 2023. Which means its does not require assessment and approval. However that decision is appealable. You can't see on the website if appeals have been lodged but given the current anti gas climate, I think its 1. highly likely that at least one and more likely many appeals have been lodged. 2. The appeals will be pretty weak and won't lead to much (ie they will be full of motherhood gas is bad statements that can't be considered in terms of the EP Act, alongside one or two very well researched and very biased ones that actually address the requirements of the EP act, and 3. If number 1 is true, there will be a lengthy period while the appeals are respond to and the decision confirmed or overturned.
Just my thoughts based on my experience as an environmental approvals consultant based in Perth.
