it's not being used to hold a large short position as that's too risky should AAU go into Trading Halt and come out of that with an Offtake and/or JV partner annoucnement, I suggest it's being used as a means of transacting to impact (manipulate) the "headline" daily close price, as simple as that.
The recent spate of selling kicked in as of the 18th of March 2024, any signficiance to that date / period ... hmmmmm
What do most retail holders (or any holders for that matter) look at, the close price !!
