I dont think management have the access, tools, time or inclination to sort through shareholders existing holdings, trading histories, receipt of SPP monies etc. to reward those who supposedly have been 'loyal' to the company. Besides that, what yardstick would you use to measure it? Its a blanket approach - one size for all. Any notations allowing for 'individualisation' of allotment, etc, within the spp documents I think would be there purely to cover their own backsides in the event they wished to favour their mates, brokers etc.
