Imo a fixed fee - say $1 - on every single ASX trade, in order to fund an actual watchdog, with adequate resources and adequate teeth, would go a long way to cleaning up this circus that is exploited by crooks and charlatans, over and over again.
It would also put a lid on a lot of the bot trading nonsense for single-digit share trades…
But as long as the foxes rule the henhouse, that’ll never happen!
