Seems to be the assumption that these diamond holes were drilled for grade. Maybe the announcement on visible gold built in that expectation? If you go back to previous announcements, well before they had any idea of what the assay results would be, you get statements like this:

"The main objective is to clarify mineralisation geometries and establish baseline structural data in different parts of the Lake Roe gold system."

I.e. they are drilling orientated diamond holes to get structural data on the faults/veins/shears. It isn't infill resource holes, or twinning RC holes to confirm grade.

If you look at the collar positions of the diamond holes, they are not in the areas with best grade. At Bombora North, they drilled on section lines north and south of the best intersections. At Bombora (Main) the best grade is under the salt lake, which was drilled during/after the diamond drilling.

Considering the holes were part funded by the WA government, it's to be expected the holes were for that purpose. Geological surveys usually only part-fund drillholes that will increase the geological knowledge, not resource/infill holes.
