I mailed my application by Express Post from inner Melbourne to Sydney on Monday. It arrived in the Sydney GPO Boxes at before 0600 this morning. Australia Post continues to be reliable, but the former guarantee of overnight delivery between capital cities (including many suburbs) has been suspended. It is a peak time of year for parcel delivery so the overnight air freighter flights would be full.
Australia Post has recommenced using rail for some parcels as at least one liveried container has been on either a Melbourne to Brisbane or Sydney to Brisbane Pacific National intermodal train. It also uses trucks between the capitals.
As usual, despite the offer of 'free money' in the arbitrage, many amazingly won't subscribe for this JLG offer, and not all will be in a nursing home. A friend suggested some people don't bother to open mail for weeks, and compound that by not keeping up to date through print or online media about what companies in which they hold shares are doing.
