Harvey Norman chief optimistic for Christmas despite profits slump
The chief executive of electronics and furniture giant Harvey Norman is optimistic about the outlook for the retail sector through Christmas and into the new year, despite reporting a plunge in sales and profits across the first quarter.Katie Page, who helms Harvey Norman alongside executive chairman Gerry Harvey, told The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald there were a number of factors giving her hope for the festive season, including high vaccination rates, high household savings and a booming housing market
