Sheesh, bit of shame to see blokes getting all precious about attempted gender diversity in 2020.

The announcement simply stated "Peter’s retirement allows for the potential appointment of a female director in the future."

This implies that they will still appoint the best person for the role.

Anyone who thinks addressing gender diversity is sexism, is missing the point. When done properly, it is simply to overcome unconscious biases that are currently vastly skewed in the favour of blokes.

At senior levels it has nothing to do with the number of applicants, so comparisons to random broad industries are completely irrelevant.

Given the purpose of boards, diverse thinking is absolutely critical. Especially given FLC's questionable execution over the last few years. They could certainly benefit.
