Yeah, there's a record date so expect the price to drop $0.0075 Monday. If I buy on Monday, I won't get the Capital Return.
Just to clarify say you've got 10000 shares you're gonna get $75 paid into your account. You should include the payment and the fact it was a capital return in your FY24 tax records. It's not taxable. It's just part of your original stake coming home with no gain or loss.
I used "when you sell" above but what I really means is include the payment in this year's return like a dividend, you shouldn't pay any tax and don't forget to take the $0.0075 off your purchase Capital Gain/Loss calculation when you sell for tax purposes. So using the example (cost base $0.05) above cost base becomes $0.0425 less/plus whatever you sell at
