I would add buying at a discount to the cash backing of a small company only has relevance where shareholders exert influence over the board.
In this case they will liquidate to prevent further operating losses.
Hence control is especially important in a microcap.
The directors can keep businesses running for generous salaries while draining cash if no-one watches them.
