Everyone seems to have come up with in-house options on what to do. All reasonably argued out.
However..
Externalities have not been addressed. Cuba is in negotiations with China on building a defence training ground in Cuba.
Yanks being Yanks already are building up somewhat of a head of steam
My question is whether the advisory group is really a spyglass-like portal for bigger external operators .. take your pick on who the end point operators may be.
The USA is starting to see this as another Cuban missile crisis but with Chinese characteristics.
Why would Cuba open up access to China?
I suspect that access to a military base a stones throw from the USA is an obvious reason fo China and Chinese money to develop gold mining in Cuba would push AAU to the back of the bus, sufficiently far back in the bus never to be heard of.
How locals will tolerate Chinese presence will be interesting, but if money is thrown around, probably OK with it. The political front of Cuba will do what? Harden up because of a new big brother?
