These guys are doing the work in the field and are hard working and incentivised to make discoveries whilst taking very little out of the exploration budget.

Making discoveries as a junior is not easy, if it was everyone would be doing it.

Given the history of not only failure, but desultory failure here, I'd take the $120k graduate if I were you.
