Not my speciality JandJ but there's a link and (having 2 family members with Type I diabeties) I hope it's not a strong one!

Re Type II it's roughly 1.5 to 2 times above the normal population at age 70 ie 13-18% compared to 9% according to a recent Harvard paper on it...
