    actually stayer... the AGL exit from direct ownership of its wind farms was actually the beginning of its SP decline... that plus the Liberal government (Frydenberg) lobbying directly to the board about the announcement of the planned closure of Lidell - cost the CEO his role and Redman took over and divested assets from balance sheet into PowAR Co.

    so many people on this thread need to learn what the word "woke" actually means... greenwashing would be much more appropriate to what is intended

    Wind and solar are great, but I agree that we will not get a stable power system without dependancy on generators that can provide on demand supply. Lithium batteries cannot store for long enough & have fire risks - there are plenty of PH options in Australia - but we are woefully behind the investment curve in getting these done to line up with coal plant retirements

    RoI on BESS is much greater than 10% presently... arbitrage and FCAS are currently resulting in payback periods ~2-3 years (33-50%)... obviously this will diminish as more BESS installations are made and first mover advantages are eroded
