@WeronaEK - You said you have done some research into rare earths and maybe during your research you discovered a company 25 kms south of Dubbo in N.S.W.
The company to which I refer is Australian Strategic Materials Ltd - (ASX - ASM) which listed in July 2020. This company has evolved rapidly since it demerged from Alkane Resources.
Some Overview points from the ASM website: ------->. https://asm-au.com/
Our “mine to metals” strategy is to extract, refine and manufacture high-purity metals, alloys and powders, supplying direct to global manufacturers in clean energies, electric vehicles, aerospace, electronics and communications.
- Mining and recovery of critical metal oxides from the polymetallic Dubbo Project in Australia
- Establishment of metals plants in strategic global locations to convert oxides into high-purity critical metals and alloys. The Dubbo Project is based on a long-term, globally significant resource of rare earths, zirconium, niobium and hafnium.
- The project will become an alternative, sustainable and secure source of critical metal oxides – one of the few supply options outside China.
It will also be a flagship project for clean resource development, targeting net zero carbon operational emissions.
Following a successful commercial piloting phase, ASM’s first metals plant has been constructed in South Korea.
This will pave the way for further metals plants in globally strategic locations.
In June 2022, Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd (HEC) were awarded a conditional contract for engineering, procurement and construction definition work (EPCD) for the Dubbo Project. Learn more
In December 2021, an Optimisation Study was completed, confirming strong financial results. The Optimisation Work simplified the Dubbo Project process flow sheet and incorporated new operating strategies that will reduce operating costs and improve ESG performance.
ASM intends to develop the Dubbo Project to produce metal oxides in the form of chemicals, powders and metals at its Dubbo site.
These products will be available in a range of standard and customised specifications, based on market requirements.
ASM has completed significant successful test work to optimise oxide recovery in partnership with the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO).
Long-term, the materials produced from the Dubbo Project will be used for refining into critical metals at our proposed metals plants, the first of which is in South Korea.
