Like GM, Ford Will Soon Offer 24-Inch Wheels On Its Full-Size SUVs
Automakers like General Motors are constantly trying to outdo each other with horsepower ratings, technology features, and more recently, wheel sizes. Now, it appears as though cross-town rival Ford will soon be offering more monstrous wheel sizes for its upcoming full-size SUVs, as evidenced in recent spy spots.
As covered by GM Authority sister publication, Ford Authority, recent spy photos capture a Ford Expedition prototype being tested on public roads and featuring 24-inch rims. Although there isn’t much detail regarding these new rollers, it’s expected that the refreshed 2025 Expedition will feature these wheels as an option.
It’s worth noting that the largest set of rims currently available on the Ford Expedition measure in at 22 inches. Additionally, it’s likely that the Lincoln Navigator will also receive 24-inch alloy wheels as well.
Of course, General Motors has already officially claimed that the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV will be the first modern production vehicle to feature 24-inch wheels. In fact, The General will soon offer this enormous wheel size on its entire refreshed 2024 full-size SUV lineup, which includes the following models:
If that wasn’t enough, GM design chief Michael Simcoe was quoted back in 2019 as saying that 24-inch and 26-inch wheel sizes were just over the horizon. Now, the question becomes, when will General Motors begin offering 26-inch rollers? And where will the measuring contest end?

In regard to the mid-cycle refresh of the GM full-size SUV lineup, the Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Escalade will all feature styling and technology upgrades for the upcoming 2024 model year. More specifically, the front and rear fascias will be revised, and the infotainment system will be updated.
