Correct me if I'm wrong but if Harbour declared 'Best & Final' then under the truth in takeovers policy, they are now precluded from increasing their offer regardless.
Truth in Takeover policy? Haven't laughed so hard for a while.
But may I ask a question? Is there an offer on the table?
Reading Santos announcement of today, it reads ".... subject to conditions including completion of confirmatory due diligence."
That to me reads that they have varied the original offer but there is no firm offer there yet?
And by the way, when the independent valuer's report comes out, I hope they will value the accumulated franking credits the company has. These may have no value on the balance sheet, but they do have a value to share holders.
