Yupe, AUD dropping...More pain ahead for Aussie, forecasters warn

The Australian dollar could fall below US70¢ for the first time in almost eight months, forecasters warn, as activity is sapped by lockdowns in Sydney and Victoria, and amid increasing fears that global growth could be stalled by the delta variant of the coronavirus.
The Australian currency tumbled to a low of US73.20¢ on Tuesday, its lowest level against the greenback since November 24, 2020.
The risk-sensitive currency was caught up in the global equity market sell-off as concerns mount about the strength of the economic recovery as the aggressive strain of COVID-19 makes its way through Europe, Britain and the United States.
