The release of SS is due in weeks but I suspect draft numbers would be available around now, as I remember NE mentioning latest Kaiser resource upgrade was the last remaining item outstanding before they could finalise the SS.
So maybe recent pick up in volume may be related to the above although pure speculation from my end.
Either way, last few days of trading leads me to believe increased interest in ALK whilst attempting to keep a lid on SP.
Lets see if my tea leaves serve me well..
