I do love that unexpectedly high USD$5 !
BHP's expected annual copper production of ~1800kt of Cu would be worth an extra USD$1.8B over a full year (at USD$5 cf USD$4/lb) (for info BHP realised price for first 9 months of FY24 is only USD$3.72).
So, really good over the medium term for BHP but it may produce unexpected 'pressure' in short term to increase the AA bid.
As an aside, have a look at how a "pure" copper producer is responding to the Cu price (HGO - note that fundamentals also are having an effect! - I declare I own a few).
