A valuation is very subjective (for example GS is valuing Ltr at $1.40) , and becomes “objective” only in the sense that it comes from an independent party. What Ltr should have done is reject the offer and engaged an expert valuation to defend its position. Then alb gets frustrated and they come up with their own valuation and slightly higher offer.
However now that the BOD had given their indicative recommendation, it’s very hard to make a higher valuation defensible now.
