    US sanctions mean, for example, at least some major Australian banks (e.g. NAB) won't support transactions with Cuba. This makes things more difficult for Australian entities to do business with Cuba. Difficult but not impossible, and sanctions affect more than just financial transactions such as the cost of business in general and the extra thought you have give about the impact of anything you do in/with Cuba . So if you have another other roughly equal alternative (e.g. not in Cuba), you might be more likely to go with that. That effect is probably felt to some extent worldwide when dealing with Cuba.
    Sanctions are mean spirited.
