Unbelievable how blinkered you guys are @Bigglesworth. Stop protecting the company and try protect your capital.
Why do you think Macquarie were short? I’ll help you out:
1. they understood the Covid high was unsustainable
2. they know downgrades always come in threes (at least)
3. their professional network gives them early insight into what/how big tech was pivoting away from outsourcing their data annotation
4. unlike retail they understand “the trend is your friend”.
So try and blame ‘evil shorterz’ as much as you like, but shorts don’t target companies that are kicking goals. Appen’s management did a great job getting them where they did, but as soon as the world changed around them, they have proven utterly incapable of moving with the times.
