I don't know why so much bot trading but it's been going for a very long time now. All day every day since it was trading in the $2.50 area.
My only guess is that the volume of bids is too small to put decent size orders in so they need to be little bite sized chunks until they do their thing without forcing the price too much in any given direction.
Just there to get the price moving at all perhaps!
(Have been following BBG for many years now, looking more closely the past two years or so and was trading this on and off a few times before the rather large decline)
