Great post Damos,
It was very interesting to hear about the extra rig being secured. Whilst most MDs and the market focus on 'newsflow', I prefer to deal with tangible outcomes and they can only occur with drilling or deals.... and WA8 is working on both
Hi @HarryMoses - that is very kind of you, though you may have already noticed many excellent posters on the WA8 threads, which in itself is rare on HC, as... there are so many stocks and only so many, ah.... hmm... personalities that are worth their weight in gold (and perhaps Antimony).
As for MC... hmm.. yep. I agree, nothing personal to him, but... I would prefer to not have a coach that is trying to run 10-15 teams concurrently!
Nothing to correct regarding your thoughts on the gold production, albeit, as I said earlier, just like the Antimony, things are moving quickly and... what I sort of.. hope my happen, is they further success with the Antimony, so much so, that there is a starter pit so valuable, a pathway to producing both gold/Ani from the very start becomes the best way forward, which I hope would in turn, bolster WA8 from being an initial small cap producer, straight up towards the 100k+ equivalent.
The current gold resource is good, but... aside from Ricardo, the likes of Ardmore likely have a fairly high strip ratio and... need to be drilled out more. The battle that always faces every MD... where will the drill bit achieve the most bang for the buck, versus meeting strategic goals/operational goals etc.
Then.. you have the added bonus (also complication if trying to balance the above), of having multiple mills nearby that could.. potentially enable much earlier production. In an ideal world, one or more of the gold deposits could be toll treated, but, I think it's still too early for that. So... drilling in the very near term makes sense on every level to give WA8 the best chance at making the right decision later on, versus focusing purely on producing as quickly as possible (if... one of the pits was high grade and low strip, this would all be academic, as WA8 would likely be refurbing the plant now)
Lots of balls in the air, so... if I don't give a straight answer, it's because there is no clear 'right one' yet.
@vmp - cheers for that regarding LRV. I don't think Amanda will jump into any early off takes, though she did mention she knows someone in the industry that trades in Antimony (globally). Good to have options available to the company either way. As I found MEKs way of funding their development very savvy.... i.e. basically had multiple funding sources and played them off against one another, whilst also being able to show the market they could fund without massive dilution.
I have some very similar thoughts on LRV as yourself, though I have not followed them closely like yourself (took a position a while back, but... quickly exited).
Really looking forward to seeing what the company can do in the coming weeks (not months or even longer like many explorers, or... to coin a phrase that was mentioned last week, "advanced explorer").
