Cable sticking that occurred after drilling to 3400 m + into the lower angwa ( where M 1 never went) increasing the mud weight and compromising the pebbly arkose section above, thus compromising the primary of objective of obtaining a sample to surface?... No.
I'm suggesting they had no need to put themselves (us) in that situation at all, and should've stayed on map got the sample in the upper angwa or top lower angwa (known horizons via mk1)and only then drilled deeper chasing elephants. Then if you hit a pocket of high pressure with a sample already on surface it actually really is good news.
