It's not a matter of putting it on the back burner. DP is not chasing sales, there's no sale sign that gets put up. This would put BRK on the weaker side of negotiations, for the same reason DP will not engage or publish an updated reserve estimate (like one would expect with other mining companies) as it would be creating a ceiling. Any serious party will already have all the data and know the value of the land.
BRK will continue to drill as they have until an offer worth taking comes along.
