Fortunately the Talisman Mine is not a greenfield mine - it is an underground mine that was closed down and is currently under development by NTL to be reopened. Ore within 6 months.

It will be Newcrest (MCAP of $14bn aud), not NTL, who takes on the bulk of the greenfield work at Rahu across the road.

NTL has resource consent for 20,000 cubic meters of material for the Talisman mine. By the time NTL comes to phase 2 of Talisman they expect to have profited over $20m from the bulk sampling project. Ample cash flow to work on legal and other consents for phase 2.

I'm interested to know more about the Ministerial veto you refer to, that can be used on small projects like this. Are you suggesting it is akin to the Chatham Rock Phosphate situation? Sadly, you are incorrect, that involves the EPA because it involves the seabed. Perhaps put up a link to the section of the RMA and we can discuss what you're talking about.

However, sadly I think I can see where you are headed with your posts. I already laid out the information which suggests you may be mistaken in reply to your 'caution' post, but you did not engage with that. So I suppose the only reasonable option is to reply in kind and refer to my previous post:

In terms of regulatory approvals, NTL has ticked most of the boxes:

- Mining permit under the Crown Minerals Act 1991;
- Access agreements across Crown land under the Conservation Act 1987;
- Traffic management plan for the bulk sampling project approved in principle (working on adjusting some roads and paths);
- Resource consent for the bulk sampling project granted by the Hauraki District Council (resource consent is the BIG hurdle in New Zealand, this is where the local government says the project is lawful and environmentally sound under the Resource Management Act 1991).
