Defamation lawsuits have a definitive effect on people. Having been confronted with a 3.5m one myself in conjunction with a mainstream newspaper I moved all assets out of my name, at some cost I might add. The newspaper supplied the legals. This way I can remain true to my nom de plume and say whatever I like only risking the shirt on my back but few people have the foresight to do that . Faced with massive legal costs and asset destruction, most opt to STFU. One of life’s little lessons, assets confine you.
